love handles say "thank you"

Tonight as I was talking to my sister, I looked in the fridge and saw a big tub of cookie dough! I pulled it out, opened it up, all while focused on what Rachel was saying to me. Without looking I started to reach in...luckily I looked down just before my hand reached the "cookie dough." I'm soo glad I looked down because little did I know, it wasn't cookie dough in the cookie dough tub, it was RANCH DRESSING! I immediately lost my appitite.
It's ok, I didn't need that cookie dough anyway...it's almost bathing suit season!

apartment wife

This semester I've really gotten into homemaking, or apartment making! I've been taking a "practical homemaking class with my friend Melissa. It was broken into 3 sections, sewing, cooking, and interior decorating. It's been such a fun class, and made me realize I can do all those things. I have some potential :) I love doing crafts and baking.

Some of the things I've made include
a pillow
apple pie
and a corset cake for my friends bachelorette party

Today I made magnets with my friend Jana for our refrigerators! They are so cute and were super easy to make.
I can't wait to graduate college so I can do crafts all the time.

wonder woman

Happy early birthday mom!
Tomorrow, March 25, is my wonderful mothers' birthday. I won't tell you her age but she still looks young enough to be my sister.
I am so grateful for my mom, she has always been my support and it's been amazing to look back and see how our relationship has developed. I always felt like I could go to my mom when I had problems. I didn't always tell her what was going on because I have a hard time talking about my problems and feelings with people, but she would always comfort me. She never pried, she was just there for me.
Now that I am a little more mature and married, my mom has become one of my best friends. I love talking to her, she always makes me laugh and gives good advice.
My mom is one of the most talented people I know. She can do anything! She's like mighty mouse. While growing up, I would often come home from school and walk into our house to see all the furniture moved around. My dad and I were always amazed that she could move such heavy furniture like the couches and piano by herself. She has the most beautiful voice I think I have ever heard, whenever a Carrie Underwood or Martina McBride song comes on the radio, I always do a double take because I think it is my mom! My mom has mastered the skill of online bargain shopping. I don't know how she does it but she can find anything online for the best price.
One of the biggest gifts my mom has ever given me was this past August. She planned my entire wedding while I was at school. She thought of everything, down to each little detail, exactly how I wanted it. I cannot thank my mom enough for the hours upon hours of work she spent for my wedding, she even got shingles because she was working so hard!
I love my mom and am so grateful for everything she has done for me and continues to do for me each day. She raised me and my sisters so well.
She is my strength.
When I grow up, I want to be just like Heidi Barker :)

Zzzzzzzzz

Last night I was kept up by an unusual sound...SNORING! Poor Mark was snoring! I laid there thinking that this is what I have to look forward to as we get old....
I tried ignoring it but I couldn't. I thought about the times when my sister Taylor use to snore really loud. Rachel and I would go into her room and plug her nose, it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen, but also really mean, I know. I thought about plugging Mark's nose but I felt to bad. I tried rolling over loudly to wake him up a little. When I did this the snoring ceased for a minute or so.
A couple times he would stop snoring but then every thirty seconds he would do one really loud snore that would scare me to death.
We are too young to be dealing with snoring right now.
Dear Mark, please don't snore tonight so I can fall asleep, thank you!
I love you :)

the good life

Just over 2 weeks ago I had my birthday. Birthdays have always been "blah" to me, it's like New Years Eve, I always get my hopes up that something amazing is going to happen but it never really does. Don't get me wrong, I have always loved my birthdays and am so grateful for my amazing friends that make them memorable.
This year I turned 22 and I was feeling a little discouraged. One of my biggest fears is getting old, I know it's stupid and I can't prevent it. But this year on my birthday I realized that I need to make my life full of joy and happiness.
I've realized that 22 is such a great age! I love growing up and still being a kid :)
This is gonna be a great year

I've been waiting my whole life...

Everything I've worked for the past 17 years is coming to an end on April 9, and I couldn't be more excited!
I graduate college in 17 days!

crazy cat lady

I'll admit it, I am a crazy cat lady. But I am not the typical old lady that collects hundreds of cats, I just want one kitten! Is that so much to ask?
I drive Mark crazy because I often bring in strays and bathe them...
A couple weeks ago the sweetest cat followed me into our apartment when I was bringing my laundry in. He was so cute and I was bored. I had a couple hours before I had to go to work. So I was playing with this cat and totally loving it, but he smelled horrendous. I knew that Mark would be mad if our apartment smelled so I decided to give this cat a bath. As I was washing him I sang "Smelly Cat," by Pheobe to keep him calm. He was so good in the bath, I only got one little tiny scratch! But then I tried drying him with my hair dryer and he wasn't ok with that. He was still wet by the time I had to go to work, so of course I couldn't put him back outside in the Rexburg winter, so I wrote Mark a note and told him he could let the cat out when he was dry.
Long story short, I don't think Mark had the hart to put him outside so we decided we would keep him for the night and then take him to the animal shelter the next morning.
That night was brutal! We put my laundry hamper in the living room for him to sleep in, he loved it! All was going well until about 4:00 am when he came to our bedroom door and started meowing. I thought if I ignored him he would go away...but he didn't. And Mark had to wake up in a couple hours to go to work. So I got up and took the cat outside to go to the bathroom, hoping that would do the trick. But it didn't. Eventually we let him in our room. He jumped up on our bed and slept right inbetween mine and Marks' heads!

sick obsessesion

I know it is pathetic and I never thought I would love Snookie, but I am obsessed with the Jersey Shore! The best part is that Mark is obsessed too! So I don't feel so pathetic. We come home from school, work and basketball practice and turn on our guilty pleasure every Thursday at 10 :) Pauly makes me laugh and I want to hang out with him. He reminds me of my friends Zack and Kamiar from home, man I miss those boys! I want to be friends with Snookie because everything she does makes me laugh. I want to slide down the stairs on a matrice with her. She reminds me of Ronisha, one of my besties. I want to be friends with Jwow because she is so loyal and would beat up mean people for me, I have a few in mind that she could start with!
Sometimes I wish I was more Italian so I could be on that show...pathetic I know, but 1/4 Italian isn't gonna cut it.
They are going to Italy next season! I'm so jealous.
